A share is a share in a stock corporation (AG). So whoever buys shares is also a co-owner of the AG. Owners of shares are therefore also called shareholders.

How do you make money with stocks?

As a shareholder, you benefit from the company's profits. The profits are distributed to shareholders in the form of dividends. You can also benefit from the company's increase in value. The price of a share is always based on the company value.
As the company's value increases, you can sell the stock for a higher price.
The general meeting will decide whether the profits will be distributed or whether they will remain in the company for further investments. As a shareholder, you can take part in this Annual General Meeting and thereby have a say in the future of the company.
